Stumbled on some hatchling Banded Rock lizards and hatchling Granite Spiny lizards at a local herp show. Surprised, as such things are not often seen. They've been thriving for a few months now, with a ZooMed 10.0 bulb a few inches above their hot basking site. I have Solartech UVB and UV Index meters, and the lizards get about 60 microwatts per square centimeter of UV light with a UV Index of around 1.0, for ten hours a day. They eat Bruchid beetles reared on Blackeye peas, small crickets and mealworms. They also eat chopped pieces of Dandelion flowers. They are just old enough to start coloring up...as much as Banded Rock lizards color up--they look like black-and-white photos anyway, but there appear to be one male and two females.
