I have heard that dormant mite eggs can hatch up until a year later. Also small populations of mites can exist undetected that suddenly explode in an infestation. The live in cycles. New mites can be brought in by a number of ways and they are good at traveling. Loose substrates, especially bark, will harbor mites. Though snake mites are species specific, they will hitch a ride on humans. A trip to a pet shop or reptile show can bring them home. Live rodents can carry them. Any reptile supplies received from a vendor that also sells snakes can add the joy of mites in an order. [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Show Entire Thread ] | ||
