Over-exaggerated. Pine oils are not good, but pine plywood is not wet with pine oil, so no problem. Plus, you would be sealing the inside of a cage anyway, so even if there were oils they would be behind the sealer.

BTW, the glue in ANY plywood can be toxic if ingested, moreso than the pine itself. So the arguement is kind of rediculous. It is kind of like saying knives are dangerous while you are holding a gun.

Use any plywood you want if you seal it. Birch is much nicer material however. Costs alot now.
