my one remaining Red Foot cruising through it's pen.
She is six years old now and I have had her three years.
I had three, one of which I was given back in 2001. He had pretty bad pyrimiding to his shell when I got him. Obviously not fed properly. He was about 7 inches when I got him and close to about 15 or 16 inches and around twenty pounds when I gave him to a friend (actually his daughter) a few weeks ago.
I also had one that was a sibling to the one pictured but unfortunately a raccoon got into their pen earlier in the year and....well...
If people ever decide they want to work with tortoises these are great pets. very interactive and even amusing.
One of these days I might have to find a male for this girl.
She lives in a 16' x 16' outdoor pen during the summer and winters in a 4' x 6' indoor enclosure.
