Green water question

Is it true that greens are the largest water snakes in the USA.. Whats the biggest green you have seen.. Any pics of these monster green water snakes.

PS- I remember being about 12-13 years old down Fl everglades. My brother and I saw a huge green water that was about as thick as a coke can. We threw it on shore and it crawled to fast and trying bitting us and went into the water. Must have been 5 ft.
