It all sounds right what you are doing. I would raise your basking area another 10 degrees or more. Where they bask and terrain they live on in the wild gets much hotter. It will also boost his immune system. He will regulate his own temps, just give him the option to get hotter. I will bet you see him use the hotter temps. You have a rhino at only 3/4 speed.
