Personally I would avoid any sort of tanks unless, as already stated, as for "raise up enclosures". Go with something less ventilated so as to keep in humidity and such - plywood, sealed melamine, or the expensive plastic enclosures if you don't want to build something. Bottom line is, big high wattage bulb over glass aquarium with screen top will cook your monitor, no matter what it is. If you have to, construct some sort of wooden top over it so not so much heat and humidity escape, you can then use two or three smaller bulbs and lower electricity usage as well as keep the heat and humidity better maintained. Also, I find that building your own enclosure for the monitor allows you to really specialize it to the monitor. IE - for a monitor that like to burrow(ackies for example), cut out the bottoms of the enclosure, put it on stands, and drop deep black mixing trays in the holes to fill them with dirt. Or for something like tree monitors, throw some lattice on the sides and walls to give them something extra to climb about on. Little things like that. But if you're looking for something a bit smaller, stick with the ackies or tree monitors if you're up to it.
