I still think you should go with expanded foam PVC or styrene sheet plastic instead of glass. Maybe even that polycarbonate they sell at many DIY stores. Glass can break.

Even a coat of pour-on bar-top epoxy would be better IMO.

I would also consider no undertank heaters under wood. You can use them inside the cage if you want (Ultratherms can be used inside). Placing a heat pad under some tile is one way to get a nice basking spot. You can get some thin heat insulation (a foil bubble wrap type of product sold for attics, just make sure it is temp rated for at least 130 deg F, most are higher than that easily.), tape the heat pad on top, then place tile over the heat pad. Place it in the cage.

CHEs are another awesome choice as long as you screen them off so the animal can't touch them.
