i use a 5% bleach solution for my big cages like boaphiles... just put it in a spray bottle, spray, wipe, spray liberally with pure water, wipe, let fully dry, replace everything.

for small cages, i just take them to the sink and use hot water and a little dish soap.

i spot clean nearly daily, change substrate when it's obviously needed or monthly, and really scrub the cages down every 3ish months.

owned 100s of snakes over the course of 15 years... never had any sort of illness/infection in a snake other than 2 wc balls. and my snake room smells nice.
