Hello, I'm new here. I find myself in need of some expertise.
While I was out Christmas shopping, my cat ripped the screen off my skink's habitat, dragged him out of it, and took him to the living room before my mom saw it and called me to come save him. Somewhere in the scuffle, the skink lost his tail, and by the time I got there the wound had already pinched mostly shut, though I put some triple antibiotic ointment on it just in case. So my question for anyone who can answer it is this:
Are skinks one of the species that grow their tails back when they lose them?
Because his tail was gorgeous, and I know if it grows back it won't be the same, but I'd still like to see him get some of it back. Besides that, I would feel a whole lot better if I knew there was already a biological "plan B" in place. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
