End of Ornate Monitor Tail Broke off

I got a quick question about the ends of monitor tail. I weekly soak mind and the humidity is right but it seemed he didn't shed the end of his tail and it got hard and the end just broke off. It is only about 1/4 inch that fell off but is this going to hinder his tail to being a nub or will it grow back to a point?
