There is a permit that you can apply for in order to transport an animal across state lines. I'll quote the FWS:

Question 24: How can a person obtain a permit to move an injurious species across state
lines or import one into the country?
Answer: Permits may be requested by filing form 3-200-42 with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service, Division of Management Authority, 4401 N. Fairfax Drive, Room 212, Arlington, VA
22203. The application form may be obtained through the Service’s International Affairs
website (http://www.fws.gov/forms/3-200-42.pdf or http://www.fws.gov/permits), or by calling
1-800-358-2104.

I for one will not be replacing my burmese pythons with another species. There isn't a replacement! They were not banned, I just can't sell the offspring out of state anymore. I find it offensive, but it's something I'll have to live with for now. Hopefully USARK will be able to spearhead a legal challenge and fight this in court. This is currently in progress. They have my support and they need yours as well. Rather than replace, fight to keep them! Until then, I'll continue to enjoy these amazing animals and they'll never get replaced
