Bleeding when shedding?

After every shedding session my leo is always unable to get the skin off of the toes. So i have to go and manually gently peel the skin off each individual toe.

Nothing seems to be helping me reduce this shedding issue. I have a moist hide in his tank at all times and even wet it more during his shedding times but every time, the next day, he will always have leftover shed on his toes. I ALWAYS have to go remove it. Or otherwise his toes will get constricted, lose circulation, and will fall off. Unfortunately, he lost the tip of one of his toes due to my inexperience/stupidity way back in the past. Horrified i made sure to never let taht happen again.

Now there seesm to be another problem.

On the underside of his left hind toes (two of them), raw spots are left after i take off his skin. Keep in mind i am doing it extremely gently and have been manually removing for more than a year. He just started to bleed and have raw spots now. It's not intense bleeding, just the area looks as if his fresh skin has been peeled off and is very bloodred. He seems to be in pain because he avoids too much pressure on that leg. Tis ONLY happens during shed season. After he finishes his shed ordeal, he is back to normal and the raw spots close up.

I havent been supplementing calcium recently. I am guessing this is the cause? If not, how can i fix this?
