To add context to mrkent's post, this morning (3/10), he drove from Washington to where I live in Oregon to pickup some spare Deer Mice from my laboratory colony. Despite less than ideal conditions, overcast, some light showers, and highs in mid 50's, we went afield to release 4 of the 7 boas I had found on the 9th.

In the process, we encountered the two boas I had originally found on Feb. 12th, three new adult male boas, and observed two Ensatina salamanders, one Rough-skinned Newt, and a subadult Southern Alligator Lizard.
