Every third day I was removing the snakes and water dish from cages. No substrate other than paper towels. Would give the snake a misting of deflea mite spray and put them in a bag for a bit while I worked on the cage. Sprayed rid in the bottom of cage and then covered to seal it up. After thirty minutes, would remove cover and wipe down the inside of the cage. Then after washing the water dish with dish soap and hot water and a good rinse off would replace in cage on fresh paper towel. The snakes would then be inspected again and if dry would go in the cage. After two weeks, there is no sign of mites. Since my parents are keeping watch on everything while I'm gone to work, I will do a full inspection when I get home.
