The coined term "salmon" is indeed a form of hypomelanism. In boas this gene is co-dominant. It's tough to really tell from the not so great low-light photo there, but if it is a salmon boa, it is a lower expression than many others out there in the hobby. Most tend to be far "cleaner" regarding the dark pigment (melanin). You would be much better off posting some brighter, clearer photos of it over on the "boa" forum, as those folks work with those and countless other boa morphs on a very daily basis.

I hope the Hog Island boa fairs well too.
