Red Rat vs Amur Rat Traits

You wrote a great online article awhile ago extolling the virtues of Amur (Russian) rat snakes, due to their curious, friendly nature.

I got one about 6 months ago and found that everything you had stated was true about them. He was The One. His active, curious, personable nature are by far the best I've ever known in a captive snake. He was also the least stubborn snake ever known, and he got over "incidents" very quickly to resume his calm, bold nature.

Problem is - I lost him outside recently (long story) on a heavily acre next to 2 vacant lots and many sbrubs. I may never find him again.

My replacement is a Red Rat with Miami phase coloration, only sandy tan on sides, not gray/silver.

In your opinion, is a Red Rat #2 on the Best Snake list, based on previously discussed traits? If not, what species is #2??
