Good for you for asking such questions BEFORE getting the animal. So many people wait until "it don't move no more". Are you looking at getting an adult, or a younger animal and just planning ahead?

I will start by saying opinions vary regarding cage size and type. In my opinion, yes, you can house an average size adult in a cage that size, but Exo's can be tricky to maintain good temps and humidity levels, and most people do so by covering the top screen, which then cuts off ventilation, potentially causing other issues. I prefer to heat my adult cages with top mounted radiant heat panels which would be difficult with a screen top cage. Also, glass is a poor insulator of heat. This could be good or bad, depending on the ambient temps of the room it will be kept in. If kept in a room that stays above 75 degrees all year round, glass may work out fine for you. If you are like most people who let the house temps drop during the winter, you may want to consider a different caging material, such as HDPE or PVCx.

Good luck with your new addition!
