I have a young speckled kingsnake (about 20 inches long), and I was thinking about driving to visit some friends for three days/two nights(it's about a four hour drive) and I'm kind of nervous about not being able to check on him myself while I'm gone, so I was thinking of getting a large pet carrier and bringing him with me, hopefully something like 17x12 inches long and lining it with aspen substrate. I use an undertank heating mat and an overhead lamp to heat his normal habitat, so assuming that bringing him on a trip like this would be okay, what would be good, cost efficient methods to keep his habitat heated (especially if I have to feed him while I'm away)? Thanks for all your help!
