It was explained to me about the tail length so now I understand the reasoning behind just counting to the vent. Like, a snake can be born with a stub tail or have lost a part to injury.
Thanks for the nice comment. I think the dam to this clutch may have some knoblochi in her background as she is over 40 inches long and very stout, much bigger than my other pyros.
 Here she is in crummy over-exposed shot of her laying her ten egg clutch. She also laid one little dud.
