Been a while since I was on this forum, not sure if the gentleman who posted last even still checks this stuff. That lil girl bit it, was always brown, I'm guessing now that she was near the end of her time. At least she got a decent spot to enjoy before it was her time. Since then I've cleaned out the tank, replaced everything and got a male, thought maybe I did something wrong the first time around but I do everything just the same with this guy sans the feeding (I keep a small bowl with a mixture of goodies in it for him) and he is almost always green as can be - even when the cat is looking at him, never even runs. :D Except for today, I kinda had to pull a couple of plants out because they were beginning to choke each other out with the root developments, and thus had to rearrange a bit, so he's adapting to a new home, so-to-speak. I'm sure he'll get used to it though.
