Even though it does have a reddish tail, they aren't really true "red-tail" boas, even though many pet stores and hobbyists commonly refer to them as such. True red-tails are classified as "Boa constrictor constrictor" (B.c.c.), whereas the Mexican, Central American (yours), and common Colombian boas, etc.. are classified as B.c.imperator (B.c.i.).
