I received what was supposed to be a wild caught pair of Pyxicephalus adspersus from Mozambique. It looks to definitely be a female and male Pyxicephalus but they looks like a cross between adspersus and edulis. The male is a light grayish green with darker modeling has a faint line down his back. Yet he also has a lot of yellow around his front legs and is just under 7in. The female is only slightly small but much darker brownish green(less modeling on the female but still present) and around 6in. They both have white bands on either side about an 2 inches behind their ears on their backs. And my questions to all of you is. Do the two species naturally hybridize? Is this just a strange color morph/local of Pyxicephalus adspersus? Are there undescribed species of Pyxicephalus?
