Long time, How goes it? Just can't get away from you Pituophis guys. Yeah, I know not shabby but I can't find kings and rats. There is a stretch (10 miles or so)right in Duval County where I can pretty much find Indigos and pines most any given time. Amazes me as well.

I hit Middleburg also findind Indigos and EDBs easily. A Ranger did put me on a protected area where there are kings (big nice Duval County kings)but aside from this area I have had no luck at all finding any others.

Not a single ratsnake this season either. No yellows or reds.

Been talk for many years that fire ants can be the problem. Recently another mentioned the HUGE hog population. There is one thing for sure, where there were once kingsnakes, rattlers now abound.

Quick update, I stopped collecting years ago. Over 40 years of it was enough. We hike and track mammals for the most part with reptiles being a nice bonus. I started as a kid in the late 60's in the Pine Barrens. Now I do it in Florida. Appalachicola (ANF) is my second home. Found an area with copperheads and the occasional king.

Another herp I recently started focusing on are the Southern Hognose. Live Oak shows a few now and again.

So Daniel, how all those pits doing? You get that LA group going?
