Could I mount that next to a hide for nighttime heat I wonder? Or would heat from the side be weird? I dont have a heat mat that would be suitable right this second. Not to say I cant get one. the only ones I have are those super flimsy ones you stick on the bottom of a cage. I dont think that would be good under substrate or even on substrate.
