Posted by: reptilekeeper999 at Sun Sep 8 17:32:20 2013 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by reptilekeeper999 ] Hey everyone, I've had two juvenile horned lizards that I have I.D.'d to be phrynosoma platyrhinos (as the seller did not know the exact species) for about a week and I am now realizing how expensive the harvester ants are adding up to be. I would just raise them if I could get a queen but I live in MO and queens are not sold, so I am curious as to whether there are any ants that could serve as an alternative instead of harvester ants. This was not an impulse buy and I had already done plenty of research, I was just wondering because it could really save me some money to raise a species of ant I can get ahold of.
