Hey Frank, Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that snakes in brumation are not sleeping. In fact even when they are in the low 50's, they are still active, moving, and even taking a drink once in a while. However their movements are very slowed. Its actually funny to watch a hog tongue flick when they are cold. Its almost like a rattle snake tongue flick.
