The San Gabes are good, San Jacintos, maybe even the Sierras. Depending on what you're looking for I'd even try some coastal areas. I live in Chatsworth, CA and July is when alot of the popular lower elevation spots slow down. I have, however, heard of a couple of people having good boa nights near Barstow. Happy herping.
