Wow, that is spot on with mine as well. The male doesn't have a lot of dark pigment in his yellow bands like some do, except for the first yellow band behind his neck. His belly is very light, almost white as well. No trace of yellow in it at all. Its also has more dark pigment than a normal checkered belly, increasing with darkness near its tail. Some have these dark bellies and others don't, same with the Yuma morph, exactly the same. My female also had an orange tint to her belly for a long time. I'm not sure if you can still see it. Its mostly a very light tan almost whitish. Her belly pattern is normal, her head pattern is dark, not as dark as the male's. Her yellow rings are like the males with not a lot of darkness, but one interesting thing is she has developed a brown tint to her yellow scales mostly on the upper dorsal area. Because of that, her bands are less defined now. The male is older and hasn't developed that at all. The other female is mostly normal with a little bit of darkness in the light scales, yellow belly, normal belly pattern, but with a darker than normal head pattern. Males seem to always be the darker (hypermelanistic type) of the two. I've found this same morph is another Los Angeles Co. locale and the males have always been darker in every way from any Long Beach hypermelanistic king I've seen, for some reason.
