Well she did lay, I had great success this year with just putting a small tub of moist peat moss in the drawer and the females all laid in a timely manner, had 2 snakes become egg bound and both ended up passing the eggs, also had 3 snakes lay eggs out in the open (1 was just dropping slugs in the open). On Monday there was an egg sitting out in the open in the reverse striped's drawer, she had her nesting box before she shed and was taking longer than usual so I assumed she wasn't content with the box of dirt. I put her in a tub in the closet with dirt and a piece of tile. There was another egg buried in the nesting box, oddly enough both eggs she laid individually are fertile.
She started laying eggs in the closet tub almost immediately, I got to remove them today, 7 good eggs and 3 slugs... So 9 good total. This is my 3rd year breeding her, in 2012 she laid 14 good eggs and last year she laid 15, I was kind of expecting 16 good eggs this year. Guess maybe the male being 10 years old is what the problem is, luckily I kept her nicest 2012 striped baby and he may be ready by next year.
