Its again easy, First, to play your game, the term reabsorb is silly, that indicates absorbing the egg/ovum, again, like for the second time. What occurs is the egg/ovum is dissolved by the snake and disappears. Which indeed occurs. Ovum is absorbed easily and commonly. Once they are shelled(become an egg) Its much more difficult. But as Caracal indicated, can occur.
So, why didn't you question Caracal, he's the one who said egg binding is not a bad thing.
His attitude is horrible. Its like, if it does not kill them, its all good. As Gregg mentioned, it may not kill them, but it always leaves its effect thru oviduct scaring and damage. And shortens the reproductive life of a female. Or, ends her life.
I think Caracal should do some research of Herp vets and see the type of patients they see. Reproductive complications are indeed a common problem seen by vets.
