I live on North Padre Island in Corpus Christi, TX. I startled this snake near my house this week. It was about 5-6 feet long. Not too fat and a smooth head. The crazy thing is that it was white or cream. It perfectly matched the color of the sand that makes up the island. I would love to know what type of snake this is.

It was not aggressive, rather it was more than happy to move away after our encounter.

The snake is below the first stair step. Thanks for your help.
