I'm usually pretty good with identifying snakes, but this one has me kind of stumped. A lot of people are telling me Eastern Hognose snake, but others are saying Northern Pine snake. Looking both of them up has me leaning towards Eastern Hognose, but I've seen a few Northern Pine Snakes online that look very similar in both pattern and color.

Unfortunately, the snake was killed by a family member who took the kill first, ask questions later approach.

The snake was killed on an open hillside in Eastern Kentucky.
