Hey gang! First of all, GREAT to read your posts. I sure miss you all! But, nobody really addressed the question of back leg paralysis for the gentleman! I had a grown granite Chuck five years back or so. He was rambunctious and healthy until one day...he wasn't. I came home from work to find him dragging his back legs. I had had him for years, but he was wild caught. The vet could find nothing wrong with him, but his anus was prolapsed.It could have been a virus or whatever, but the prolapse was the cincher. The vet recommended putting him down and I agreed. The necropsy turned up nothing but no blood work had been done. I have had several Chucks with bladder stones removed in the past year. None of them had any back leg involvement and some of those bladder stones were huge! I recommend finding out if the Calico does have a spinal injury first, before the stone removal. If antibiotics don't relieve the pressure due to swelling (?) on the spine, I think dying of constipation would be pretty hard to bear for the human and the lizard to go through that!
