I did a quick Goggle and came up with all manner of diagrams, and instructions and where to get probes, what sizes etc. Much better then can be explained here. You have a choice of many sets of instructions. Good luck,
Your best bet is to put the king back where you found it, so it can go back to its mate and do what you wanted, make more.
If you want another hobby and want to breed kings, then catch a pair of babiees and start there. An adult from nature is already set up to breed, all you can do is hinder it.
I forget what I goggled but something like how to probe snakes, or gender determination in snakes by probing, or some such thing.
