Hi all,

Andy and I and the dogs are okay. The tornado that hit first was about 3 miles down the road from our location.

The rest of the storms were either northwest of us or southeast of us.

The last I heard the death count has past 300 people. The damage is horrible. People are in great need and so are the animals.

I hope some will be able to reach out to the community and help. I know donations are being accepeted by the American Red Cross. Sorry I don't have a number, but am sure it can be found on their web site.

The following are Animal Shelters taking in dogs, cats and wild animals from the storm. Just for your information, the Tuscaloosa Metro animal shelter has sent the existing animals over to the Shelby County Humane Society shelters to make room for misplaced pets found wandering around. Also Birmingham Animal Shelter is the designated shelter to handled misplaced pets.

Tuscaloosa metro: (205)752-9101
Greater Birmingham Humane Society: (205)942-1211
Cullman Animal Shelter: (256)734-5448
Walker County Humane Shelter (205)221-6621
Decatur Animal Services (256)341-4790
Huntsville Animal Services (256)883-3782
Shelby County Humane Society shelter: (205)669-3016
Huamane Society of W. Al: (205)554-0011

There are several others, but the ones I have listed was hit the worst. Like I mentioned the Tuscaloosa Metro and the Birmingham shelters are the most needed in help. Cullman was hit really hard. Jeff and Amber live in Cullman with their two little girls Joy and Josie whom I have mentioned on this board in other messages. They own Jolly and Zulu who some may remember during the 2006 National Specialty. They were just 7 months old then.

I am off on Monday and Thurs. this week and plan to spend some of my time helping at the shelters were most needed.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Best,
Linda Tetreault
