Have a nice little pond/water feature in our back garden but the water has been pea green for months now. Have been adding interpet green away for about three weeks which is supposed to kill the algae and make it sink to the bottom of the pond. Have also used sludge buster which is supposed to consume the dead algae.

I've even gone as far as making my own DIY filter (with beneficial bacteria) which is being fed 24/7 by my pump.

All this and so far there's been little (if any) visible improvement.

Have tested the water using the strips but levels appear within the 'normal' range.

I've got some oxygenating pond plants to put in but don't want to kill them if the water is bad.

Anybody got any hints on how to improve the appearance of the water?
