Hi,

That's a tall order. If the average winter temp in TN is 41 degrees, and tropicals are most comfortable at 70-75, you're talking about keeping 1000 gals of water 30 degrees above ambient at best. Obviously, there will be colder days. I don't think a single 1k heater will do. Another thought; that 1k heater will be running 24-7 all winter. $$$$$

Tell your cousin to round 'em up & bring them inside.
