Hi there,
My partner and i are looking after an abandoned Kinkajou, (girl...about three months old we think?). We live in her natural habitat in Central America with a one year old lady Raccoon.
While JuJu (sorry!) is living with us we want to be sure she is parasite free and knowing how some medicines can be fine for one animal but death to another we would like any advice on these points.....
Would Frontline or Revolution be suitable and safe for fleas etc? Or what else is good.
Would a Mebendazol based oral anti parasite medicine be Ok? (It’s very hard to get a lot of preparations here, unless someone knows who could ship from, say, the US to Panama.)
What is a reliable, effective and safe sedative? (Any animal that has to get to a vet needs protecting from the long boat/taxi ride to a bigger island.) We have been recommended acepromazine.
Also we will give her a little Nutrical unless anyone says not to.
Thanks for any info you might be able to give. ppinny
