My daughters (12 & 9 yr olds) are looking into showing rabbits for 4-H this year. My oldest showed her hamsters and her cockatiels for two years in a row winning first place in the county fair (thats four first places..can you tell we are proud of her) and her little sister last year won first place as well as Grand Champion for her Ball Python her first time showing ever. Again we are proud.
Anyway, my girls love their animals deeply and are looking for more of a challenge. They both want to show rabbits. We have found a local and successful breeder of Lionhead rabbits and were wanting other peoples view of the "rabbit show" business before we got jumped in. My children are interested in showing in a fun yet professional manner. They and I do not want to deal with politics as they have seen me showing dogs. So are bunny people more social and more open to new people? My daughters would love nothing more than to take it further than 4-H level (perhaps National). THey girls love to show their animals and want to be able to get into a show ring. Sadly hamsters, birds and snakes don't really have the following that has shows to compete in very often.
Any advise you can give would be appreciated
