The lighting fixture on my tank recently became defunct and I'm looking for a new one. It's proving to be quite a task, as most small scale lighting fixtures tend to be sold as part of a whole tank set up. My aquarium is a small hexagon, the hole in the top measure 8in. x 4in. The Coralife Mini Aqualight Deluxe would be PERFECT (at a size of 9x5), but they've been discontinued and after scouring the internet it seems they no longer exist at all. My tank was a custom build and has proven very limiting. Coralife's reptile product company Zilla has a reptile fixture that is 12in. and even that is too big for the surface area of my tank top. Does anyone have any suggestions for similar fixtures? I've been looking at some clamp lamp models, but I'd much rather have a unit that covers the top of the tank for 2 reasons: I'm not exactly sure where I'd clamp the device on the tank, and I have a curious bird who WILL play in open water if he finds it. :-P
Any ideas are welcome --I need some light over here!
