You really didn't give details about water parameters. If your ammonia is high, you will need to keep doing water changes until it goes down. The effects will not be instantaneous for your fish. Ammonia is very toxic, that is why biweekly water changes are so important. Unfortunately, it is really hard to save a fish that refuses to eat, but if it is an ammonia problem, you still may be able to save him. What is your ammonia level at the moment?
