I rescued a cockatiel today from a small mom and pop store, I believe it is a male so i will refer to it as a he from here on out. To make a long story short he has plucked all the feathers on his neck, tops of wings and chest through abdomen area, he was in the cage with two other tiels who appeared healthy, he was shivering and all fluffed up, I know I took a big risk bringing him home as he exhibits some signs of possible illness, but I truly believe he is just cold scared and possibly malnourished. As well as I could not conciously leave him in the deplorable conditions he was in. Since getting him home and the eventful wing clipping, which he did not enjoy , he is settled in his new cage, he has ventured down and eaten a bit, unsure about drinking, but otherwise has remained on the topmost perch under the heat lamp I placed on his cage in an attempt to keep him warm, he is still all puffy but seems curious and bright eyed, watching my movement and occasionally whistling softly. Any advice on time lines for his feather regrowth and ideas on his fluffiness. He does not have loose stools or bloody poop. Thanks in advance, I dont want to see anything happen to him, and I am grateful to have gotten him out of a bad enviroment
