Definitely get him to a vet to trim it. If you are not experienced in trimming them you can do major damage to the beak and may make your bird so it isn't able to eat and will essentially starve to death. It needs to be trimmed or ground off professionally as soon as possible or it will do your bird some real damage. The unusual amount of beak growth can be due to vitamin deficiency or possible injury and some birds just do not grind them down enough without help. If you do not have an avian vet already try to find one or find someonw who is experienced in beak trimming (some pet stores claim to be and are not others are, so check around).
