I have a pair of scarlet macaws and they seem to be very much bonded. They have a nest box, they both go in the box and the hen has laid eggs for about 3 to 4 consecutive years. The male is about 12 years and the female is a few years younger. I also have a pair of greenwings. The same situation except that they are older, probably 14 to 16 years old, and have been laying eggs for about 7 to 9 years consecutively too. My problem is that, I believe, the eggs are not getting fertilized. I leave the eggs in the boxes for at least 21 to 28 days. The females are always in the nest box with the eggs and the males also go in the boxes as well. It would be great to have babies but this is not happening. Does anyone have any ideas?
