They really do need a break from egg laying. Most tamer birds will go into a new space or clean space if their eggs are moved into there. If at all possible I would remove the nest box though either if these eggs don't hatch or even if you have to get rid of the eggs. The hen can become very undernourished even if you are feeding all the right foods because of the amount of calcium and other nutrients involved in laying and caring for new babies. I would suggest a year between breedings although some breeders only wait 6 months. The longer in between the better as the hen will have a chance to regain all her strength and be healthy to care for a new set since she has been doing well with these. Maybe by then if you are having potential homes for them your other budgie can have found a new mate as well.
