This beautiful girl (or boy) has been coming to our yard and feeder for about a month now. She/he is always alone. After doing some research it appears she is a ringneck dove and that has me concerned because everything I have read indicates that they only live in captivity.

Should we attempt to catch her before the cold months set in (I'm in Jersey) or just let her fend for herself in the wild?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,
Lisa F. Wilson
