Hey! I'm a bit of a newbie to these boards, but oh well. Everyone starts off somewhere. At any rate, my girlfriend and I just adopted 2 cats from shelters in the last few weeks... they all were adults and have different personalities that are night and day. The shy one, a white/gray tabby... likes to hide anywhere and everywhere, but never really wants to come out and enjoy the real world. She's been in my apt for about 2 weeks already. We've named her Sars after the disease spreading through Asia (we couldn't fathom calling her sparkles, pookums, or missy and we went the opposite route!). Next up is Mr. Shingles, (the old man's disease... the one david letterman is struggling with). We just got him today from the shelter. He's affectionate and very loving. He was a natural born lap cat that seemingly finds more in common with dogs than cats. At any rate, it's with him that we're starting to see problems. He constantly meows and just will not stop. I don't know if its his nervous adjustment to his new surroundings, but there's a curiousity about him that won't quit. Sars, she meowed as well for the first few days we had her... but it was bareable. This guy... wow. He's loud and it just wont stop. Any chance there'd be a wise voice out there that could give me peace of mind? Will this behavior continue indefinately? Anyone heard of a cat that refused to shut up?
