Laura, many shows have a Household Pet Divison. An entry form would be needed for the show and can be obtained by contacting the person acting as the Entry clerk. For HHP, no pedigree is required. Usually the class is judged by appearance and temperment. Specific information should be available on the show's website or via the organization's website. Check the Event list on the CatHobbyist main page for links which should take you to a show's site or the organization's site. If you haven't attended a show, go to one first and see how it is done. Ask some of the exhibitors at the show to give you some pointers and assistance. Cat shows are lots of fun, whether you are showing or just going to enjoy seeing all the different breeds. CFA for one has a junior showmanship program for youngsters interested in getting into showing cats.
Good luck and keep us posted on your experiences!
