Sometimes the food on the bag gives you directions to over feed, since it's generic for all cats and not individualized. My brother recently switched to Nutro Natural Choice and his cats have lost a lot of weight. But he only feeds them 1/4 a cup of food in the morning and another 1/4 in the evening.
